At Pixies Quality Childcare, our Mission is to deliver the highest standard of childcare, early learning, and developmental opportunities to children from birth to 5 years. We understand that children thrive when they feel confident and safe within their surroundings and therefore, we aim to provide a setting that feels warm and homely, supported by staff who are caring and sensitive to each child’s individual needs.
Meet the Pixies Team

Yvonne Watt
Yvonne is the Owner and Director of Pixies Quality Childcare and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the setting. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team, having achieved both her SVQ qualification and BA Honours degree in Childcare. Yvonne is committed to maintaining high standards of care and education, ensuring the best possible outcomes for the children and families we support
Yvonne also brings valuable experience and in-depth academic knowledge in supporting children with additional support needs. Her expertise enables her to provide inclusive, tailored support and to guide the team in delivering high-quality, individualised care that meets the diverse needs of all children.

Sarah McIntosh
Sarah is our Senior Practitioner and is based in our baby room. She holds an SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People), demonstrating her strong professional knowledge and commitment to high-quality care.
In addition, Sarah is qualified in Sign Along, enabling her to support babies in developing early communication skills before they are able to communicate verbally.
Sarah’s calm and nurturing nature, combined with her experience and expertise, makes her exceptionally well suited to her role as Senior Practitioner within our baby room.

Dawn Baird
Dawn has been part of Pixies since the very beginning and is a highly valued member of our team.
She brings over 15 years of experience in childcare, demonstrating a wealth of knowledge and a strong commitment to supporting children’s development and wellbeing.
Dawn holds an SVQ Level 3 in Social Services, Children and Young People, reflecting her professional expertise and dedication to high-quality early years practice.

Rebecca Robertson
Rebecca is a fully qualified Practitioner working with our 2–3 year old children. She holds both an NC and HNC in Childcare, reflecting her strong foundation of knowledge and professional training.
Rebecca is gentle, caring, and nurturing in her approach. She can often be found sharing stories with the children, fostering a love of books and supporting their early language and literacy development.

Erin Thom
Erin is a fully qualified Practitioner in our baby room. She is highly creative and is always introducing engaging sensory experiences to support our babies’ curiosity, development, and enjoyment.
Erin is a motivated and dedicated member of the team, currently studying towards her degree in Childhood Studies, further enhancing her professional knowledge and practice. Her calm and nurturing nature makes her exceptionally well suited to working with our youngest children.

Leah Findlay
Leah is our Trainee Practitioner and began her studies in January 2026. She is thoroughly enjoying her course and is making excellent progress. Leah is embracing the opportunity to support her first group of key children, carrying out observations and contributing to their learning journeys. This hands-on experience is not only benefiting the children in her care but is also supporting her own professional development and learning.

Imogen Watt
Imogen can be found after school with a mop in her hand helping keep our setting sparkly clean, we hope Imogen continues to work with us while she studies towards her Psychology degree at university.

Grace McCabe
Grace came to us for work experience in her final year at high school and she was a fantastic fit for Pixies, Grace's caring nature means she became an instant hit with the children, we were ecstatic when Grace decided to continue on extended work experience with us, we very much hope that she will stay with Pixies to become a future practitioner.
